Islamic Finance and the Culture of Excellence: IFAAS Group wins the ‘Professional Services Business of the Year Award’

IFAAS (Islamic Finance Advisory and Assurance Services) won the ‘‘Professional Services Business of the Year Award’’. The Award was presented during a prestigious event tagged the Islamic Channel Business Awards organised by Islam Channel, a UK-based Islamic TV channel. The event was held last Friday, 18th of November, 2022, at Hilton London Metropole, UK.

IFAAS competed with many other impactful firms in the ‘’Professional Services Business’’ category. However, the jury judged it to be the most deserving of the Award. This Award category was sponsored by Wise Utility, an independent energy consulting firm specialising in ''reducing utility bills for businesses. As for IFAAS, it is an advisory firm in Islamic finance that provides its services to businesses and governments across the globe. In 15 years of existence, IFAAS has had a significant impact on about one ‘‘third of the Muslim population around the world’’, according to its Director, Najib Al Aswad, while talking about the overall achievement of the firm during an interview on Islam Channel. Through its various endeavours, the firm ultimately aims at assisting ‘’in building a Shariah-compliant, inclusive and interest-free financial system that empowers individuals, promotes entrepreneurial culture, invests in a real and sustainable economy and creates a better world for all who live in it.’’

The event, which aimed at celebrating excellence among Muslim individuals and enterprises in the UK, was attended by about a thousand figures, including dignitaries, business leaders, and politicians. This year's edition is the second of its kind after the first in 2019, before the Covid pandemic. Hence, Mohamed Harrath, CEO of Islam Channel, stressed that: “The return to live events allows us, once again, to bring together the community to recognise and highlight the contribution which Muslims are making to the UK economy as well as to the social, political and cultural landscape of Great Britain.”  He further stated the importance of this celebration thus: "One of Islam Channel's most important roles is to celebrate Muslim achievement. All too often, the media focuses on negative stories about Muslims, and the Islam Channel Business Awards allow us to come together and celebrate the Muslim community's entrepreneurial skills and commercial successes."

Commenting on this revealing event, Tufail Hussain, via his Twitter handle, commented: ''The Muslim community have made great strides in business; good to see the entrepreneurial spirit of our community being recognised at the Islam Channel Business Awards.
